Terms of Service

The ground rules for using the Ubuntu Crafts marketplace.

Please note: Ubuntu Crafts is a demonstration marketplace. This page is a plain-language summary of intended terms, not final legal advice. Have a qualified lawyer review any terms before relying on them for a live service.

1. About these terms

Ubuntu Crafts is a marketplace that connects independent artisans with buyers. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language and describe how the platform is intended to operate.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login secure. Sellers may be asked to complete identity verification (KYC) before listing. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or applicable law.

3. Buying and selling

Listings, prices and availability are set by individual makers. Auctions use a soft-close to discourage sniping. A sale forms a contract between the buyer and the seller; Ubuntu Crafts facilitates the transaction and charges a per-sale commission to sellers.

4. Payments, shipping and returns

Payment, shipping and returns are handled per the policies shown at checkout and on our Shipping and Returns pages. Ubuntu Crafts does not currently operate a funded buyer-protection program; any such program will be announced before it takes effect.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the platform for unlawful, fraudulent, or infringing activity, or to list prohibited items. Respect other users and the intellectual property of makers. We may remove content or listings that breach these rules.

6. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the platform evolves, and will reflect material changes here. Questions about these terms can be sent through our Contact page.
